I wish to share with you some wonderful news that came out 12-12-2008.  It was announced that BC will have a new Optometry act as of March 1, 2009.  That means that TPA will be enacted..  no glaucoma or orals, but all other topicals.  Please pass this news on to your Canadian (or wanna be Canadian) students. Once the College of Optometrists of BC is enacted, the regulation of Optometry will be conducted according to the Regulation for Optometrists and the Bylaws of the College of Optometry. The proposed final draft of the Bylaws for the College of Optometrists is now posted on the Board of Examiners web site ( www.optometrybc.com) for your convenience. --Karen
