* A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Optometry from the College must have completed all academic and clinic requirements with satisfactory performance.

* Achieved a passing grade in each subject and a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 (C).

* Attained a GPA of 2.00 (C) or above in the final clinical quarter.

* Complied with the rules and regulations of the Illinois College of Optometry.

* Returned all College owned equipment and supplies assigned to the student, including library materials, mailbox key and Residential Complex key.

* Discharged all financial obligations to the College.

* ICO recognizes Graduation with Honors for the following categories:
Cumulative GPA Designation
3.50 - 3.74 Cum Laude
3.75 - 3.89 Magna Cum Laude
3.90 - 4.0 Summa Cum Laude

* Students who have met the grade point average qualifications for Honors, but who have had to repeat a clinic rotation will not be considered as graduating with Honors.

Official academic transcripts are available through the Office of the Registrar. An official academic transcript is a copy of the students's permanent academic record.  It lists, in chronological order, all courses taken and grades received at the Illinois College of Optometry.  Students may order an official academic transcript by submitting an Academic Transcript Request form in person, by U.S. mail (3241 South Michigan - Chicago, Illinois 60616) or Fax (312/949-7680).  No e-mail requests accepted. Official academic transcripts cannot be sent by e-mail or fax. Academic transcripts for graduates are free, compliments of the Alumni Association.  A $30.00 transcript fee is automatically charged to the fourth year student accounts for unlimited transcripts.  Please allow 2-3 business days for processing.
